- Background Checks for Coaches
- Recently western New York schools have requried game officials {referees, umpires, etc} to pass a criminal back ground check before the official could work at any games. Over the past few years there has been legislation introduced requiring that volunteer coaches involved in youth sports pass criminal background checks prior to coaching. At this time, OATKA as a league does not have this requirement, but may have soon consider implimenting such a program.
