Below are the surveys we have ran in the past. Please view the results of surveys which interest you.
  • 2002 NFL College Draft -- Make the Bill's Selection

  • The NFL's 2002 College Draft is coming up in a few weeks. As a reward for having a poor season the Buffalo Bills have the 4th overall pick in Draft. All of us have our opinion about what the Bills have to do in order to improve. Now is your chance to make the call, what is it...offense, defense, trade the pick, let us know.

  • 2003 OATKA Playoffs

  • For the upcoming season OATKA has approved the return of League wide playoffs. These will consist of two rounds, winding up with the first through fourth place teams at each age level, playing for a championship. Review the questions below and share your thoughts.

  • NYSCA Coaches Certitication

  • OATKA League rules mandates that all coaches be certified in thier respective sports by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. The purpose of this certification is to sensitize coaches to interacting with children and their parents. Some feel this League requirement is unwarranted in our league and would be in favor of eliminating it. Tell us what you think.

  • Should OATKA Increase Weight Limits for teams

  • The OATKA football teams are organized by age and weight. Currently the weight limits are PeeWee 85lbs, Freshmen 100lbs, Jr Varsity 125 and Varsity 150. As commissioners we often hear how "todays kids" are growing bigger and bigger and that we should adjust our weights accordinly. On the other hand we hear that this is little league and weights should be for the smaller kids. Tell us what you think, you can also add comments in our League Forum area.

  • Buffalo Bills Predictions 2003

  • OK, it has been a long off season for all of us. The Bills have moved to strengthen their D with the addition of Spikes, Posey, Adams, et tal. They made an interesting first round pick {although he isn't active} and we've seen training camp and the pre season. So what do you think, how well are the Bill going to do this year.

  • Background Checks for Coaches

  • Recently western New York schools have requried game officials {referees, umpires, etc} to pass a criminal back ground check before the official could work at any games. Over the past few years there has been legislation introduced requiring that volunteer coaches involved in youth sports pass criminal background checks prior to coaching. At this time, OATKA as a league does not have this requirement, but may have soon consider implimenting such a program. Tell us how you feel and always, remember you can go the the OATKA Forum if you would like to discuss this question more fully.

  • Should there be playoffs or not

  • This season the Oatka Commissioners decided not to have playoffs. As they debated the issue it was noted that under a playoff format not all 1,400 Oatka participants get to play a full schedule. In fact only about 15% of the players would play a full 10 game schedule. The commissioners were also concerned about the practice of running up scores and the lessened playing time players might get as teams strive for victories in order to qualify for playoff games. Along with stopping playoffs, the Commissioners also changed the Supremacy Trophy, which was based on the total number of organization wins, with a Sportsmanship Trophy that is awarded based on a total organization's overall sportsmanship. As a compromise, the League established a full ten game season for all teams and the sponsorship of a Moving Up game for last year players from each team within each division.

  • Should the Pee Wee teams be competitive?

  • Four years ago Oatka started the Pee Wee level of play. This division was a spinoff from the freshman level that used to include the 7 and 8 year olds.
The Pee Wee divison was started because the League wanted to provide an opportunity for all players to play a significant amount of time and also to provide a division where children could be introduced to the fundamentals of the game. To insure the playing time and instructional level, this division was made non-competitive, with no scores or standings being recorded.
Since the inception, some in league contend that the players keep score themselves and they know who wins or loses the game, therefore the league should just recoganize the Pee Wees as competitive. Tell us what you think. Also, you can go the the League forum and participate in a bulletin borad discussion on this topic

  • Varsity Football

  • As part of the 04 Rule submissions the League will be discussing some changes to the varsity level football program. The changes deal mostly with ages and weights. Join our poll and tell us what you think.

  • Buffalo Bills & Free Agency

  • The NFL Free Agency period is soon upon us. Give the Bills your advice, should they retain Rueben Brown, what areas should they concentrate on? Ok, look at this way, what else are you gonna do in the winter/spring when there is no football on television
